Herbie Hancock, qui fête cette année ses 70 ans, sortira le 21 juin prochain un nouvel album intitulé The Imagine Project chez Sony. Pour ce disque, l'artiste a fait appel à de nombreux talents comme Seal, Pink, John Legend ou encore Tinariwen.
Le célèbre pianiste a enregistré cet album aux quatre coins du monde. Véritable album sans frontière, The Imagine Project réunit des chanteurs et groupes d'horizons très diverses, notamment Anoushka Shankar, Seal, Pink, John Legend, Juanes, Jeff Beck, Konono No l, Lionel Loueke, Dave Matthews, Lisa Hannigan, Derek Trucks, Manu Katche, Susan Tedeschi, Chaka Khan, Tinariwen, The Chieftains, Marcus Miller, Wayne Shorter, Oumou Sangare, Los Lobos, India.Arie, James Morrison et Toumani Diabete.
Jazzman américain de grand talent, Herbie Hancock a reçu de multiples récompenses tout au long de sa carrière. En 2008, il a été consacré lors de la 50e soirée des Grammy Awards à Los Angeles en remportant le prix du meilleur album de l'année pour River : the Joni Letters.
